Welcome

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

On behalf of the International and Local Organizing Committees, I am pleased to announce that the 6th International Conference of D-Amino Acid Research (IDAR2024) and 18th Joint Conference of the D-Amino Acid Research Society Japan will be held at Kanazawa University in August 2024 between 21 (Wednesday) and 24 (Saturday). It is a great honor and pleasure for me to serve as the Chairman of this conference, which has a long history and established tradition. All of us involved in running the conference are working hard to make it a fruitful experience for all participants. We hope that many of you will join us to present the results of your excellent research, and we look forward to your active participation in asking questions and enriching discussions.

Researchers in the fields of biology, chemistry, medicine, pharmacology, engineering, and agriculture doing research on D-amino acids will gather to discuss the latest research findings. It is a unique international interdisciplinary conference that deepens comprehensive exchanges among researchers from various fields. In addition to the traditional topics, we have planned new topics for this year's conference, including food and clinical applications (diagnosis and treatment) in medicine. We are very much looking forward to attending the transdisciplinary discussions about D-amino acid research, which has been established by many researchers, with the latest findings at this conference. We hope that D-amino acid research will continue to progress and be applied in various fields, making a significant contribution to society.

In the conference, we will also be advised to take basic infection control measures to ensure safe participation for everyone. It is our hope that many of you will attend the conference and enjoy the latest research topics in the field.

Kanazawa is a beautiful city with rich tradition and culture. We hope that you will enjoy the unique natural scenery, culture, and sightseeing opportunities in Kanazawa in Hokuriku, Japan. I am looking forward to welcoming you all to Kanazawa.

Regards,

Takashi Wada, Chair of IDAR2024
